Major League Fishing has announced its schedule and roster for the 2025 BPT series. Anglers and viewers can expect some updates and changes for the 2025 MLF season. Although the fishing roster may look different this year, it will produce some of the best bass fishing anglers in the world. We’ll cover what to expect, the schedule and location, and all the anglers who are expected to fish the MLF Bass Pro Tour in 2025.
2025 Major League Fishing Changes
As the MLF prepares for its seventh season, there are notable changes. Major League Fishing has reduced the amount of anglers fishing the BPT series from 80 to 66. With millions on the line throughout the 2025 fishing season, the winning amount per bass pro tournament has increased from $100,000 to $150,000. Major League Fishing anglers will still earn valuable points towards AOY, REDCREST 2026, and General Tire Heavy Hitters.
Another change made by Major League Fishing is when the anglers will fish. On days one and two of the Qualifying Round, all anglers will fish for the first time in Bass Pro Tour history. Top anglers will then move on to the third day’s Knockout Round and the fourth day’s Championship Round. Catch, weigh, and immediate release is still required. All the action will be streamed live on MLFNOW!, as well as on MajorLeagueFishing.com, MyOutdoorTV (MOTV), and the Major League Fishing app.
Perhaps the most controversial change for the 2025 MLF season is the usage of forward-facing sonar. There will be a daily cap on how long each angler can utilize forward-facing and 360-degree sonar. The 2025 Bass Pro Tour anglers are required to choose one of three daily periods to use these electronics. Fans observing on MLFNOW! will be informed of the usage of FFS and 360-degree technologies via an indicator on SCORETRACKER® next to each angler’s name. The tracker will show who has used, is now using, or still has access to forward-facing sonar. Before the chosen period begins, anglers will announce their use of these electronics. All seven Bass Pro Tour tournaments and REDCREST 2025 are subject to this regulation.
*This rule does not pertain to Heavy Hitters or Team Series.
